Biography
Christophe Deprez holds a master's degree in law from the University of Liège, an LL.M. in public international law from the University of Amsterdam, and a Ph.D. from the University of Liège. He also studied at Maastricht University, the University of Glasgow and the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the National University of Ireland, Galway. He was from 2011 to 2015 a research fellow of the Fund for Scientific Research (Belgium), and from January to July 2016 a visiting postdoctoral scholar at Columbia Law School. Over the following five years, he pursued his academic activity while practising international criminal law and human rights as an attorney at the Brussels Bar (Jus Cogens law firm). Christophe is now a full-time associate professor at the University of Liège Law School, where his principal teaching areas are public international law, international humanitarian law and international human rights law. He also taught international criminal law for several years at the University of Lille and at Aix-Marseille University.
