Biography

Universiteit Brussel. She is passionate about collaborative and decolonial research approaches, seeking to bridge the artificial divide between academic disciplines. Adriana advocates for recognising the essential role of Indigenous and local knowledge in establishing alternative pathways towards epistemic, social, racial, and environmental justice. Adriana explores the potential of decolonial and feminist thought to weave diverse knowledge systems, fostering opportunities to decentre, deprivilege, and diversify knowledge generation. Currently, she is involved in three projects: a European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant Project focused on decolonising international biodiversity law, an Erasmus project aimed at unpacking coloniality in secondary school curricula in Europe, and a North-South collaborative project designed to establish a learning and research network on sustainable territorial governance in Bolivia.
